Katikkiro Bans Gravity Omutujju & Lil Pazo’s Songs From Airing on Buganda’s Media

The Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has banned songs from Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo from being aired on the Kingdom’s owned media stations. These are BBS TV and CBS TV.

Mayiga said that these songs are vulgar and perverted. Besides they are an insult to the people of the Kabaka.

This comes after the Uganda National Cultural Center summoned the two singers on December 9 to dialogue with them.

UNCC stated that these singers were being summoned for releasing songs with vulgar lyrics. The songs mentioned included Omunio, Okwepicha, Doctor, Enyama, and Enkudi.

The two singers have received immense criticism from the public over these songs. They argue that these negative songs and the message they contain will harm young audiences.

Vulgar Songs have recently become a trend in the country. Everyone who wants to rise to fame quickly releases an obscene song or does something perverted. It however seems that enough is enough and relevant authorities are taking steps to address these situations before they deteriorate further.
