Hon Mathias Mpuuga was embarrassed by mourners after they chased him away from fallen Kawempe North MP Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya’s vigil. This vigil was organized at the late MP’s home in Kadugala village in Masaka District.
Being one of the MPs from the Greater Masaka Region, Hon Mpuuga came to attend the vigil but was left regretting his decision to show up. Additionally, the MP’s kind gesture of delivering a lorry full of a water tank was also turned away by the mourners.

They accused him of poisoning the water too just like Ssegirinya was allegedly poisoned. The mourners could also not fathom how the MP could show up at the burial clad with his “girlfriend” Hon Juliet Kakande. Kakande happens to be the Masaka City MP who sided with Mpuuga after he fell out with NUP and Bobi Wine.
These mourners were also heard apologizing to Bobi Wine referring to him as’President.’ They said that Mpuuga going against him was forbidden. Furthermore, they also urged all residents of Nyendo-Mukungwe where Mpuuga is the MP to replace him with Nannungi Alice in the upcoming elections.
However, it should be noted that Mpuuga was crucial in the release of Hon Ssegirinya and Hon Ssewanyana when they had been accused of masterminding the killings in Greater Masaka.
